BLAEK: Breath Privacy Policy

Summary

BLAEK: Breath keeps your practice journal — your sessions, check-ins and reflections, and an optional name — only on your device. None of it is sent to us, and we cannot see it. It leaves your device only when you choose to share or export it. The app has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking.

The app does all of its work on your device and does not send or receive your information over the internet. The only time it opens a web page is when you tap Privacy Policy in Settings, which opens this page in your web browser.

Who we are

BLAEK: Breath is published by Blaek Mass, LC (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the BLAEK: Breath app for iPhone and iPad and its Apple Watch companion.

What the app stores on your device

To keep your journal, Breath saves the following in the app’s private storage on your device:

On iPhone and iPad these journal files use Apple’s Complete Data Protection: when your device has a passcode, they are encrypted and cannot be read, even by Breath, while the device is locked.

Editing and deleting your information

You can edit or delete check-ins and individual sessions at any time in Today and Past Entries, and remove your journal name in Settings. Deleting the app deletes everything it has stored on your device. It does not delete copies you have already shared or exported, which you manage wherever you saved them.

Backups

If you have iCloud Backup or computer backups turned on, Breath’s journal is included in them like other app data. Backups are protected by Apple’s backup encryption and your own backup settings, not by the app’s on-device protection.

Sharing and exporting

Your journal leaves the app only when you choose. You can:

Once shared or saved, that copy is held by the app or service you sent it to and is governed by its own privacy terms, such as Apple’s for iCloud Drive. To hand a file to the share sheet, Breath writes a temporary copy in its cache; it is deleted before your next export and the next time the app opens.

What the app does not access

Breath guides sessions with timing, visuals, sound cues and, on Apple Watch, haptic taps. The short sound cues are generated by the app and kept in your device’s temporary cache; they contain no information about you.

The app does not ask for access to your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, Apple Health data or any other protected information.

Apple Watch

The Watch app plays haptic taps using Apple’s built-in WatchKit features and asks watchOS to keep the app running for the length of a session. It does not read or write Apple Health data and does not send information to your iPhone, to us or to anyone else.

Information handled by Apple

When you download the app, Apple processes your purchase and download under Apple’s privacy policy. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device’s settings, Apple may give us aggregated crash and usage reports that do not identify you. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

Children

Breath is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app changes how information is handled, we will update this page and its effective date before that version is released.
