BLAEK: Chakra Privacy Policy

Summary

BLAEK: Chakra can listen through your microphone, only during a session you start, to measure the pitch of your hum. That measurement happens entirely on your device. Your voice is never recorded, saved, sent to us or shared. A short summary of each session is kept on your device. The app has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking.

The app does all of its work on your device and does not send or receive your information over the internet. The only time it opens a web page is when you tap Privacy Policy at the bottom of the main screen, which opens this page in your web browser.

Who we are

BLAEK: Chakra is published by Blaek Mass, LC (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the BLAEK: Chakra app for iPhone and iPad.

Microphone

The first time you start a session, iOS asks whether Chakra may use your microphone. If you allow it, the app listens only while a session is running and works out the pitch of your hum, in hertz, so it can show whether you are in the range for the selected chakra.

The sound itself is analysed in the app’s memory and immediately discarded. No audio is written to storage, and nothing you say or hum is sent off your device.

Listening stops when you tap Stop, when the final chakra round ends, or as soon as the app is no longer in the foreground — for example when you switch to another app, lock your device, receive a call or open the privacy policy. The session ends at that point.

If you decline, sessions still run with the breath and round timer, but your pitch is not measured. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → BLAEK: Chakra.

Session history

When a session ends, the app saves a summary of it on your device: when it started and ended, how long it lasted and the chakra you finished on, and, if the microphone was used, the average, lowest and highest pitch measured and how many pitch readings were taken. The most recent 100 sessions are kept. These summaries contain no audio.

Session history is stored only in the app’s private storage on your device and is not sent to us or anyone else. Like other app data, it is included in your iCloud or computer backups if you have backups turned on. This version of the app does not yet display or let you delete individual summaries; deleting the app deletes all of them.

Other information

The app does not ask for access to your location, contacts, photos, camera, Apple Health data or any other protected information.

Information handled by Apple

When you download the app, Apple processes your purchase and download under Apple’s privacy policy. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device’s settings, Apple may give us aggregated crash and usage reports that do not identify you. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

Children

Chakra is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app changes how information is handled, we will update this page and its effective date before that version is released.
